Mom on my mind

I love to pass the time fussing over my plants as my Mom used to love to do. One of her favorites was jasmine. It smells so good when it's blooming! I was dying to have an oak tree in my yard. This one has really grown in the past 7 years and here it is about to receive some much needed rainwater. I love pruning it! No other hands have ever dared prune it...heehee. Included here is a pic of my Mom's favorites growing in my backyard...jasmine and a crape myrtle. Also, the tub by the pool is from Gruene, Tx, one of my favorite places to visit, and it is filled with bobine, mexican heather and jasmine. I was just having some fun with a new camera. Enjoy!

July 4th or Independence Day. Hmmmm. Let's enjoy our freedoms this weekend and thank those who have made it possible.

"Cardinals" at Dad's!

You know I was just over at my Dad's place recently and we decided to sit outside for a while and just enjoy the view. While we were sitting outside, I saw several cardinals flying around! They were so beautiful! I rarely, if ever, see them where I live now. Hopefully Roger can catch a pic of one of them at our Dad's place sometime. The pic would be a great addition to this blog!

Proud "Cardinal"!

I have continued to be so proud to have been a Southside Cardinal graduate from SISD! I tell everyone I know how proud I am to have grown up in a small town out in the country just outside San Antonio, Texas. Since I now live out of town, I can thoroughly appreciate where I grew up. When I return home to see my family, I always have the best feeling inside. I wish I had a picture of how beautiful all the indian paintbrush look in the springtime off of HWY 281 in front of Pearce Primary and Southside High School. Looking forward to hearing from former and future grads of Southside High School!
